Social media as a way to learn?

Just a thought.



I discover every day lots of new things which are shared by the people I follow

But I also learn tons of new things when looking for things to share or blog about. As I just don't share articles from Google Reader automatically my sharing often includes some research and browsing which I think is a very good way to learn (even at my nearly advanced age :)).



And sharing gives me the motivation to look for more as we all like to share what we have found (not only us humans my cat also does it with less savoury items).



Any thoughts on this?
